We got to hold him! It was a good day :) We got down there around noon because they told us they may release him from the PICU to the 3rd floor and they weren't quite sure when. We got there and his nurse Jean had him unwired and ready to hold! He sat and stared at us as we held him, you could tell it felt good to not be on his back. He looks so good, it was hard for us to put him down. At 4:00 pm they took him out of the PICU, it was sad to leave. They have been amazing to him and us, we especially want to thank Jean and Lizelle for taking care of him. The 3rd floor is not quite as intense, he will not have someone on his room 24-7. They still have him on monitors for his oxygen, heart rate and a few other things, they can watch them from the nurse station just outside his door. Of course we are a little nervous, but we know he is still in good hands. More pics below!

  8. Oh yeah for Teagan!! Moving to the third floor is a big step! I'm so glad he is doing so well. He looks so good too! The nurses down there are amazing! I'm sure this was such a long week for you but ended with such happiness when you got to hold him. I can't wait to hear about more of his progress. He's a strong little guy. You are always in my prayers.

  10. YEA! Moving up is a big step, yes it is scary, because they are not being watched 24/7 but you can now stay with him 24/7 and sleep in the room with him, Let then know if you are not happy with anything. You are Teagans advocate and need to let them know if your not happy! With your room, nurse, visitors anything.
Kylie was throwing up when she moved to the floor, so I was too scared to leave her room for 1 second. With her second surgery I would wait and see how the nurse was with her, then if I felt comfortable I would leave. It is nice now because now he can sleep in peace and quiet. You can stay in his room and don't have to leave. He is doing so fantastic, Kylie was only on the floor for a week, then was able to come home. She had issues of working out her enalapril and dig. I am so happy you got to hold him finally. No one understands what it is like to not be able to hold your baby for so long and even after you can it is so HARD to hold a baby attached to a million wires and tubes. Jean is a great nurse she was 1 of Kylie's many nurses. Please let me know if you need anything. We live up near Ogden and I would be more than willing to help with anything you need, bringing home a heart baby is very overwhelming, I think the cardothorasic NP's forget you are a Mommy not a nurse. I remember when we broght Kylie home they had her on a 3 hour feeding, well with a NG tube and all the cleaning and preparing you have to do, I got no sleep for days. Little Teagan is doing amazing. Please let me know if I can help,
    Chrissie
